What barrel length and approx/ weight the G2? Smokeless or BP?

While I've never fired a TC G2 Rifle, I've owned/shot a number of Contenders so I suspect that the G2 rifle/carbine is going to be a shade on the light(weight) side so, for paper-punching, you'll probably want to keep your loads fairly mild.

You could try what I shoot out of my Muzzleloader. My ML is a .458 so I use the Lee 459-405-HB, Ron

RCBS 405GC over 57.0 W748 runs 1750 fps, and shoots into 1.5" at 100
in my Marlin SS GG. Substitute either a Speer or Rem j-bullet and it works
the same. Great hunting load, one shot on wildebeest and zebra. This
is a trapdoor pressure load, too.

Also try 10-12 gr Unique for nice light fun load with cast boolits.

The Lyman 457122 and 27gr of 4759 will wreck any deer or hog in its path.

For an accurate lighter boolit on a budget would be the 340gr Lee.. IMO

... Lyman 457124 - 385gr cast any hardness you desire for hunting. For target shooting - 1:20

That is what I am currently using in my Marlin . The HB mold throws a larger bullet than the other Lee molds , with the exception of the large ( 500 grain ? ) pointed bullet mold . Obviously , I do not want a pointed bullet in a rifle w/ a tube magazine .

I use a Lee .457" sizing die lapped to .460 " .

Your T/C will be a bit light. My Buffalo Classic is also a little light. My light bullet load is a Saeco 350 gr. RNFPGC pushed at just over 1400 FPS by 28 gr. 5744. Recoil is not at all bad, even less than the mild 300 gr. factory stuff.

My light .45-70 load is 13.5 - 13.6 grains of Unique . 300 - 405 grain bullet . About 1150 fps with 405 grain .

Mild recoil .

Will knock the steel rams down at 200 meters , if you crank in enough elevation . :-)

Echonomical to shoot with home cast bullets .
