Just curious. I have begun to experiment with RE-7 powder now that it has started to appear in stores locally (like Cabelas). My 222 likes it but my 250 or 6mm don't. I am about to test my 338 WM when the weather improves. What has been your experience?

I used to use it, but cannot find it anymore. I have a couple of pounds left. IMR 4198 seems to be a lot more plentiful in my area, so I have switched to it for most of my rifles.

I use it in my 300BO, seems to work very well for supersonic and subsonic heavies and cycles the AR action just fine.

Like it with a 165 gr. noe in my rem. 06.

Best powder going for full-charge "Group 2" loads in .44-40 for modern smokeless actions.
Stuff the case full and let fly!

I use it for my 8x56R M95 Steyr carbine loads and find it burns much cleaner than 5744.

Once my stock of 5744 is gone, I plan to switch to Rel 7 for all my cast loads.

Great powder for 45-70. I use it for my Lee cast 405 Gr. boolits with good results. Clean burning with good velocities and accuracy seems to be good as well.

I use it for cartridges that have a large opening in the front compared to the volume of the case. That includes the .375 Winchester and 45-70. It works great for that. I have not tried it in cartridges with smaller holes in the front.

I haven't used it lately, but I have used a fair amount of it. When I did, it seemed to be more or less an easily metered version of IMR (or H) 4198.

According to my notes, Re7 is my second choice for powder behind AA1680 in my 22 Hornet with cast boolits. I have 9 different 22 cal moulds and only one did not like Re 7, the others all shot less than 1.75 with most staying at around 1.25- 1.50 at 100 yds. YMMV.

I use it the same way but in 35 Rem jacketed loads and 7.62x39 boolit loads. It's the best so far!

I love it in my .223 with cast ( most accurate) and in my .243 ...it is showing very good promise!

Anybody use it in some of the bigger stuff like 375's or 416's or bigger? I'd like to try it for reduced recoil loads in my 416 Ruger but can't find any recommendations and Alliant wasn't overly helpful as they had no loads and wouldn't recommend anything.

35 Rem, 375 Winchester, 45-70 all seem to like it. I think it does best in the medium caliber, medium case capacity rounds at  medium velocities. Reading all the above posts makes me think it is more versatile than I give it credit for but I only have a few pounds, I'll save it for what it does best.

If you look at the Lyman book, it is listed for about every rifle cartridge in the book if not the most accurate in each cartridge so at the very least it is a great backup powder if you can't find your favorite for a particular one (we can all think of several I will bet). I will be trying it in my 308 too since it likes 2400 and my supply is getting low. Keep your thoughts and experiences with RE-7 coming!!! Thanks to all

Reloder 7 is my go to powder for loading boolits in the .444 Marlin and the .250 Savage.

I love the Reloader 7, and it is performing very well in all of my cast rifle boolit loads with either lubed or Powdercoated projectiles.
I use it almost exclusevly in my 7.62x54 and 8x57 and started using it in the 30-06 and .308.
I cant wait to try it in the .35 Whelen.
But I have not been able to find any lately, along with any other pistol powders.
Saw lots of IMR 4831 and 4064 at my LGS today, but I have lots of those.

I use it in .223 , 243 , 30/30 , 45/70 , works for me any where you would use 4198 IMHO
