Fair price for Linotype?

Hello all,

I go in and out of phases of casting. That means that I learn a lot, and then forget a lot.

I have a guy local to me who is selling linotype for $1 a pound. It is apparently in sticks from older printers. I feel like $1 a pound is a little high, but is it a fair price. Any thoughts?

$1 per pound is about the going price. I bought 100 lbs (4 25 lb. pigs) @ .75 per pound 10 years ago. Grab all you can afford.

You posted that 19 hours ago, I hope by now all he had is now in your possession. Even if you don't need all of it at $1 a pound you will have no problem making a profit on the rest.
