i am going to build a .308 pistol
and will use SAVAGE action
i have been considering the target actions but have not dismissed out of hand the possibility of using 10FP or 110 etc.
i am going with the savage because of the ease of mounting barrels
will probably go SHILEN with the heaviest barrel i can find
and almost certainly use a WITT muzzle brake because of the no-gunsmithing attachment.
uncertain about bbl length as of yet
the entire pistol will be over 26 inches so it legally does not matter what action i use
the feds can call it a pistol or rifle but in either case it will be legal
i already have a viper vortex 6.5x20x44mm scope but will probably go higher magnification
the making of the furniture will be the most difficult aspect of the build.
if need be i will put lead in the stock for weight to reduce recoil as much as possible
and may use a SINCLAIR f-class bipod

Does Savage sell the 10FP action as "undesignated"?

Assuming you intended that to read 6.5-20x44, that would be a lot and big for a pistol scope.

You do not want to use a rifle scope on a free recoiling pistol unless you like to get hit in the eye.

Pistol scopes have much more eye relief.

26" is very long for a pistol, I am not real sure exactly your trying to do.

Bolt action pistols are larger than others but I haven't seen one that big before.

What about Boyd's ?
I wonder if they would have anything that you could start from.

it is a bar of delrin and inside of those pillars are aluminum pillars with a delrin washer.
i like that plastic because it is so stable.

it doesnt matter for this project.
the overall length will be much longer than the federal law concerning minimum length for rifles.
so it simply isnt an issue
believe me i have done my homework
i am leaning towards a 20 inch barrel

My LTR is 20", you shouldn't lose much using faster powders.
