Very good read, Thanks John for posting. And thanks to Beagle for a good write-up. It gave me some ideas!.

Just wondering if the gas checks make the mold more difficult to close entirely?

I had actually thought about this a long time ago. My thought was, will the check come off when fired because of the pressure pushing through the hole and the drag on the check pulling it off. At that time I was a fledgling handloader and didn't want to chance it. I never went any further with it. I hope it all works out. Be sure to check the bore after each shot. I hope this doesn't sound negative, because I don't mean it that way.
