I don't know if this is getting to you guys but there are times while trying to view something on Google it is a good thing I don't have a hammer in my hand, such as Turnbull Refinishing Services which I just tried. I clicked on case hardening and I was quickly routed to some clothing ads in Esquire Magazine. It happens no matter what I want to look at. Sometimes I am routed to dating services or where to buy ****** cheap. When I want to order something from Midway I have to work my way through a minefield of pop up ads. GRRRR

You can have all three at the same time. Malwarebytes and spybot are programs you run to find problems. You run each one in succession. Each will sometimes find things that the other missed.

Adblocker is a pluggin for you browser that runs while your browser it open and it blocks ads while you are browsing. AVG runs all the time to protect you from viruses.

I absolutely adore Adblock Plus.

Adblock Plus

Surf the web without annoying ads!

Blocks banners, pop-ups and video ads - even on Facebook and YouTube
Unobtrusive ads aren't being blocked in order to support websites (configurable (https://adblockplus.org/en/acceptable-ads))
It's free!

I can't even imagine browsing the internet without it anymore.

If I could only use a single add on, it would be Adblock Plus.

Once configured it removes 99% of all the nuisance associated with flashing or intrusive advertising for me.

Hopefully I won't just confuse the issue but there is some malware that essentially runs between your browser and the internet. No matter what you click on your browser is going through that software and it will deliver whatever crud it was designed to deliver. Search and tool bars are notorious for this type of behavior.

I would NOT use your credit card or site passwords until the situation was resolved and change any passwords such as those for this site after removal.

One other thing to consider is if you installed any software recently. Some software is designed to go out and download other software to install, the notification of this activity (if given at all) would be buried deep in the terms of use for the software. Typically in high elfin or Klingon legalese. And as an added bonus it does it's download more junk only when the computer is not actively being used.

No anti-virus or malware removal tool is 100% effective but you might start with running a full scan with the anti-virus you have. Full scan has different features than real time protection Followed by running the individual programs for malware suggested. You may want to download them to another computer and burn them to disk to install. Avoid going through whatever malware you have when downloading them.

One other tool that can be most useful is Windows Defender Offline http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline This is a bootable disk with a Microsoft anti-virus and malware removal tool. Because you are not booting into the Windows that is on your hard disk and could be infected but booting from the anti-virus disk it can find things that use the installed operating system to hide themselves. Again I would try to use another system to download this and make the disk. With what your browser is doing anything you do online is subject to interference.

Good luck.

Clear your history and cache in addition to using the above mentioned programs. Microsoft Security essentials is free also. You should scan your computer with all 3 on the regular.

Thank the Nazis at Apple for that. You need to jailbreak if you want to have control of your iPad. Even though I'm running a jailbreak AdBlock is worthless anymore. It doesn't block anything even when adding all the networks. Untrusted Hosts Blocker literally blocks everything. Which is nice but it blocks redirects and a bunch of other useful functions.

On a computer AdBlock and Ghostery are your friends. Ghostery shows you and allows you to block the trackers. Nothing like opening up a site and seeing 23 trackers. Google Analytics is almost always one of them.
