Out of boredom I just have been playing with a Masterpiece Arms MAC10 16" Carbine in 45 ACP that uses M3 grease gun magazines..I have just shot up a few loads I had laying about with the 452374 and 4.5-5g of Bullseye.I also shot a couple groups with current S&B 230 Ball ammo. These three groups are at 50 yards and you can see e how poor the ball ammo did and how well the cast loads did. Its much cheaper than a Thompson (but uglier) and pretty fun to shoot.

I've been running the 230 grain tula ball ammo getting two and a half inch 5 shot groups consistently at 50 yards. I consider this to be a pretty damn good gun.i have been loading.454 dia. cast bullets in the in the Tula cases and I have 5 firings so far and the accuracy is about three and a half inches it 50 yards.I'm still getting a slight bit of leading in the first 3 inches of barrel but the boar shows tooling marks in that area so I load the last few rounds in the magazine with ball ammo and it seems to clean it out.

I have one also. I have the AR stock version. I am surprised by how well mine shoots. Fun gun.

I don't know that would be completely useless. With your cast loads you could do a fair amount of moderate range critter control with that gun. If it would feed some kind of flat point you would have a pretty decent varmint (2 and 4 legged) stopper.

Going to imagine you get a little better barrel with the mechtech. I have one in 40, hits everything its aimed at, reloads or factory.

Mine was an early model . I payed $249 for it. Did not have all the stock options. Happy with the stock I have. "Thumper" Great with cast.
I use MiHec 210 g FP

I just ran 200 rounds this AM with the 225 RN RCBS with LLA and push though sized to .454.They cast out of round from .453 to .457 and that's with the pins tight an all lined up locked up solid. I need to tweak it a bit.I used Tula steel cases on their 4th fireing with Rotor #8 Little dandy throwing 4.6 of Bulls eye. Mostly shot at steel from 50 to 200 but these were my groups on paper to get a zero at the various ranges. One groups I had a 200 was 7" but it was shot down on the cardboard backer and I forgot to take a picture of it. The one 200 groups shown is 9" with 4 into 7".Bad trigger, out of round mold and all and it still shoots as well as my buddies Thompson and and HK UMP .45 rifle.I have about about about 400-500 rounds of cast with no cleaning other than one swab of the barrel and a couple drips of CLP on the bolt.

200(7"-12")----100(4"-5")---50 Yards----(2"-3")

So I have a dumb question that maybe someone knows the answer too. The MPA570SST pistol isnt on the MD roster. But they also sell the MPA5700SST which is listed as a carbine rifle. It looks like they just fitted a stock and long barrel on the pistol and called it a rifle, but i might be wrong. They also sell the MPA570SST-SBR as a rifle. Would the MPA5700SST or the MPA570SST-SBR be legal in maryland?

You know the real deal is still available for about 5K more, brand new old stock. I am itching to get one, but the price has gone up about 3K in the last couple of years.

I'm in WA and no Full auto for us. We just got SBR and suppressors OK'd finally. Though I don't care about either but nice for the guys that do.
Ive not had this MPA miss a beat yet expect for some S&B ball ammo that had really hard primers that wont reliable fire. For ball ammo the Tula steel case shoots well. Ten shot groups at 50 yards are under 3" typically.

Tried the Ideal 454190 45 Colt bullet today. They were .456 as cast from my reclaimed range lead. I water dropped them as I was shooting them within an hour. Sized in a Lee .454 push through die then lubed in my Lyman .452 die with RCBS green. Loaded in Tula steel cases with 4.5g of Bulls eye with CCI LP Primer.
Loaded 25 to test. They Functioned well using the same seating die setting as for 225g RCBS RN I was loading.. These four groups at 50 yards(2"-2-1/2" groups) and one I shot at 100 was 4".Upper right group was after I adjusted for a zero.Pretty good so far and up for another test.

Took out a full box today. Just shot at 50 yards. Groups are amazing for a 45 ACP carbine IMHO. Also seen in the picture is some 454424 from my Ideal HP mold cast at 14 BHN.I shot ten and two of them went sideways, group was over 12" at 50 yards. They did feed fine though.
Clay pigeons at 100 yard were easy prey most of the time. Tomorrow its 100 and 200 yard groups.

with the trigger a 1/2" long 6# pull Its hard to keep from getting vertical in the groups.Other than that I can't complain.

Geo: that is still better than MOM (Minute of Man) at 200 yards. not bad at all. I have a Kel-Tec Sub2000 in .40 S&W but with only iron sights I haven't had much luck beyond 50-75 yards hitting anything with it.

Going to mount a Red Dot sight on that gun soon, which should make it a little easier to hit with. Pretty much consider that the pistol cartridges are good out to 100 and anything beyond that was going to bounce off the target.

the 260g bullet has roughly 250 FPE at 200 yards. Not going to catch it with a baseball glove<G>

Years ago, here in Atlanta, I was working a gun show with a buddy of mine. Another vendor, who was one of the starters of the original Mac company was selling grease gun magazines brand new in wrap and told me they were coming out with the carbine. I bought 8 of those magazines and waited for more than ten years for those to come out so I could buy one. I finally gave up and sold the magazines off to make room for other stuff.

Yes, I'm jealous. A little .45 ACP carbine like that can be real handy in certain situations, especially with a big pile of magazines and would make a great keep it in your truck gun for when things don't go well.

Did the gun come from the manufacturer with the collapsible stock, or did you add that on?

came that way. they made lots of variations of stock.

I just traded for one of those..quad rail forearm and adjustable stock. I really like it .45 ACP with no recoil and it does seem accurate for..what it is. The factory sights are next to worthless, but I immediately installed my cheap Primary Arms red dot which seems perfect for this MPA carbine. This gun is a beast, weighing about 10 pounds, looks and feels like a brick. Maybe that has a lot to do with why I like it so much. It's .45 ACP, reliable, accurate, and shoots my powder coated 230 grain Lee bullets like a champ so I can overlook it being clunky and heavy.
