Dennis not bad at all bud. You made the comment of not being bad of a older fellow but heck that's not bad for a lot of guys. How about coming down to the lower 48 and give me some lessons. Hope all is well with you and your family have not seen you in chat in ages.

Many folks just know that handguns are a 25 yard firearm.

They need to see what a good handgun/handgunner can do.

nice job ; hitting a gong at that distance is great, who said lead boolits aren't accurate ... ha ha

WOW!!!

That is some nice shooting. Many people do get stuck just shooting up close with pistols. I haven't tried to push myself that far, but I do try my luck at a 12" steel plate at 100 yards with my Smith 460 XVR and cast boolits. I like to play with 270 grain boolits over trail boss. It still puts them out there at 1,000 fps. A jacketed load at 1400 fps with A5744 works better for 100 yards. I don't have a scope on my pistol and I shoot freehand (no support) while standing.

The gongs are 9x18 inchers and the boolit is Mihec MP 360-640 cast from straight WW's water dropped and sized to 358 lubed with carnuba red. load is 14.8 grains of IMR 4227 on top a Fed SPM primer. Funny thing is I needed a load and like a lot of us here don't have a lot of my regular powders but have 5 or 6 pounds of the 4227, so gave it a shot and it worked out well. Dennis

Dennis I got a big grin when you said, "If I don't do my part, it doesn't get done at all."

Great shooting and great video!

The scope looks like it takes a beating on that Smith, being so close to the muzzle and the porting.

Good shooting. Looks a little chilly and muddy out there, but a fine range. Congrats

I think it isn't most pistol owners think 25 yards is maximum range but that the pistols they are using are limited to it. Like my HiPoint, works well but I am not kidding myself, it is a $129 gun and past 50 yards is asking a LOT. And my little pocket 380 is about the same even if it was a little more money(Walther PK-380). Limit is the tool for a lot of the shooters out there.

Great shooting! I had that exact scope on a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter. Fantastic glass for the money and crystal clear.

That is very true. I mess around with both my 357Mag BH, GP100 and the SBH when I had it shooting at a rock across the pond about 500yrds away but I was just messing around. I hit it most times but it was a whole bunch bigger than that gong. I doubt I could do half as good as Dennis and the half I hit it would have been luck.
