Welcome a new member to the family!!!

Two years ago, our family started the adoption process. Back in June, we found out that a couple chose our family for their daughter. Because she was in foster care and under CHPS, we endured a legal battle with the county for them to honor the constitutional rights of the parents to consent to us adopting this little girl. Back in August, we won, or rather, the birth parents won, therefore she was placed with us. We've had to maintain strict confidentiality because until finalization, she was technically in foster care with us. Well, finalization happened a week ago, so I can finally share our good news! We now have a new family member who has stolen our hearts. :grin: She's just over a year old and an absolute joy in our lives and family.

Huge kudos and Texas-sized congratulations!

We got both of our girls through "means other than childbirth." The oldest was eighteen and is now twenty-eight and married with two handsome young sons. The youngest was seventeen and is now twenty-three and gave us our first granddaughter this past August.

We never had children of our own so our learning curve was pretty severe and it wasn't always easy. But it was--and reamains--worth it. It was so, so worth it.

You have a beautiful family and not only are you blessed, but your adoption of that little angel has blessed a number of other people, some of whom you haven't even met yet.
