Picked this up a while back had coke spilled on it took bluing off of the cylinder in about 1/2 so I did some work on it and looks better.Paid $75 for it hasn't been fired much. The one on the top is the finished product the bottom is before.

A lot of folks get worried with brass frames. I always had luck with them. Just load 28gns rather than 30 or more. Should do real well.
Good shootin.

These revolvers do suffer from having the cylinder slam back into the recoil shield when fired, gradually increasing the cylinder barrel gap. Keep the loads light and avoid heavy boolits and you'll get a good long service from it. The extra barrel length allows for longer sight radius and better accuracy. You also get some additional velocity which can't hurt.

I used an 1858 brasser for several years at a local club and never had a single problem with it. Just use lighter loads and they work fine.

One heck of a deal, Freightman. Mine cost a ways north of that, I regret sayings, but I can load up or down (can only press about 48 gr. in behind ball, though)
