I tried 4.5-5.0 BE with no leading and no FTF in my Para Expert but also no great accuracy either from bag rest. The best was the 4.5. I am getting one ragged hole with FMJ reloads at 4.4. Is it worth it to try a lower load say 4.3-4.4?

Yes, give 3.5 to 4.4 a try.

I got great accuracy in my blackhawk with that boolit, but had to seat it really deep. Lighten your loads....

I loaded up 4.2-4.4 last night might get out later today or tomorrow to test these. I think one of them should be good after looking again at the targets from the higher loads.

What alloy? Perhaps try something harder. The water-dropped wheel weight .45's at 23-ish BHN that I've recovered have bases about as square and sharp as they were going into the case.

I use that boolit with 4.0 gr. BE. Cycles fine accuracy is ggod enough for me. My 1911 is not finicky at all though.

These are range scrap alloy. I could try them with ww water dropped if nothing works otherwise.

Thanks Shiloh for that encouragement to go with the lower loads. We will see what they can do.

I have cast and shot that boolit with 4.2gr Bullseye. It was OK but I like the TL 452 200gr SWC better. It just works better for me YMMV.

Tried it today and even with my hands freezing cold I had a nice group at 7 yds 126074
Looks like that's my load. 4.3 BE
CCI LPP, 1.235 OAL, .470 mouth of case
