Can anyone help me identify Lyman mold 457483A?
It's a gas check mold, I am just wondering what weight it is supposed to be.

Thanks,

John

Johnw...ski;

It lists as 378 grs. in Lyman No. 2 alloy, and was intended as a gas-check version of the old 405 gr. Trapdoor Carbine load, still offered by Lyman as #457124, but currently listed as 385 grs. It was made 1955 - 1991. Weights will vary from production run to production run, as will exact nose shape, but either top punch #191 or #374 should fit reasonably well if you use a Lyman or RCBS lube-sizer. The "A" is probably a code for the particular "cherry" used to cut the mould. If it is stamped "LYMAN" rather than "IDEAL, it was made after about 1964.
