I'm awaiting arrival of this mold in the mail to cast for a Ruger M77 tang sight in .358 Winchester that I recently purchased & am wondering if others have tried this mold in the .358. Ranch Dog designs have worked well for me in the past, & I've already had good early results with a NOE copy of the RCBS 358-200 but wanted a heavier boolit to work with also. I've read that the tang safety M77 in .358 is a 1:16 twist and boolits heavier than 250 gr. could have stabilization problems but figured this might be a nice compromise between 200 & 250 grain and would be a good choice for black bear, although I've read that the RCBS 200 grainer should be good for deer. I love shooting this gun so far & am really looking forward to hunting with it.

I use that boolit in my Ruger Hawkeye and really like it.I need to work on getting it to feed a little better.I use IMR 3031 and it shoots very accurate but I think the Hawkeye uses a 1:12 twist.Next year Indiana is talking about letting us use rifles in deer season and if that happens my 358 with this boolit will in the woods.

I live in southern MI which now allows rifles in straight wall cartridges under 1.80" so I have a 77/44 for that, plan on using this for the northern part of the state to hunt with cast along with my 45/70 guide gun. I've read that the Hawkeye is 1:12 as you've said, thanks for the info. & if it works out as planned I'll be in the woods with this boolit also.

I tried it in my .358 Winchester Savage Model 11. Here is my latest, but check out the whole thread.

Picked that mold up when it was on sale a few weeks back. Haven't had a chance to cast any yet but I'm interested to see others results. Plan on using it in a 358 99 and a 35 Rem 336.

Glad to see this boolit doing well for some. I've tried it a couple of times in my whelen but so far haven't done too well with it. Looks like 2 for 2 good results with 3031 so far in the .358's. I just happen to have a couple pounds so i'll give that a try soon in the whelen.
It sure is a good looking boolit and should do well in any 35!!
