I went to my local Big lots and picked up some small small cast iron pans I thought that would work as ingot molds, what yall think

Corey,

Most folks seem to have pots from 10 to 40 lbs which wouldn't accept an ingot that size. Aluminum muffin tins work great.

oh well, just a thought, I will use them for plan b, great for corn bread ;)

Look for cast iron muffin and cornbread pans.

How bot an ingot mold. Usually find used ones at gun shows for $2.00

Don't bother with the Magma ingot molds either. I bought the smaller one several years ago. It makes a 10# rectangular ingot that won't fit anything I've got. Takes more than one dip with my #5 Rowell ladle to fill it. Works good, except the end product is worthless except to store. I hate to do things twice to get something that works.

Made by Lodge, Found mine at Walmart... Specified use is spoon rest or ashtray. Works great for ingots. I use mine to catch the drips and overflow from my bottom pour lead melter.
