Anybody here ever cast lead pellets for air rifles or hear of this being done?

Here are some air gun pellet molds.

What size do you plan to make?

Tom can probably make a mold for you.

I've looked at this before but think the time and money would be prohibitive to me; the pellets mine shoots well are around $8 per 200. But I guess saving $ to us casting fools is low on the list.

Another route would be to look for swaging dies and swaging from pure lead slugs

Probably right. Would be cheaper to buy them. It was just an idea. I'm new to bullet casting so.......

If there ever came a time when you couldn't get them commercially, the mold would certainly be valuable.

I cast them all the time for my .257 and .457 air rifles. How can I be helpful?

Casting bullets is never about the money! I would find a mold I don't use anymore and drill a .22 cal cavity between the cavities of the mold and sprue plate (the sprue plate will prolly be hard to drill). A .22 cal. solid? Lube with JPW. If I had a pellet rifle, I'd give it a try!
