Meh-play is the correct French pronunciation, but it gets pronounced correctly about as much as sabot. (say-bow, as in the letter O)

Me-plat and meh-plat, while both incorrect pronunciations, are both common lexicon.

I believe Hamish is the first to answer correctly.
For personal reasons I will continue to intentionally mispronounce it though.

around here that'd just be considered good entertainment. and of course it would have to include bar b que and beer and freeloaders. i mean witnesses. we'd make an event of it and $$$ would change hands. course since i'm not about to do it and its hunting season i guess i'm gonna have to go get my own meds resupply. but its sunday you say and those kind of stores are closed. yea right. and you can keep ur plan and ur dr. if you want. speaking of which, i need a treatment right now. like the song says, its gotta be 8AM somewhere, right?

First time around doc said it wasn't ton enough to need repair and all he did was put a stitch in it and then sent me back to work after 6 weeks. Never healed and finally ended with a total tear. Left side has an unrepaired 80% tear too... just part of the long list of joints that are trashed on my body :holysheep

Not just the French. Here's one:

"Bexar"

Another:

"Texas"

Or:

"Los Angeles".

In concurrence with a much previous person on this thread, and with no apologies, I pronounce most of the letters in French words, particularly the consonants. If they're too lazy to pronounce them, that's THEIR problem. :-D
