I haven't yet decided on a mould. This will be for loading and shooting in two different Marlin 336 rifles - both Ballard rifling - and a Remington 141. Interested mainly in paper target shooting but could eventually use these on deer.

I've heard the RCBS 35-200FN is great in rifles as well as revolvers, so that is one possibility. The Lyman 358315 mould is another, but I don't read much about it except how it's oversize nose won't allow chambering in rifles.

Then there's a Saeco in that weight range also.

Which bullet has given you best accuracy in these rifles? I might crank up velocity for gas checks but would first like to shoot slow without. Any use in .38Special will be low velocity.

Does your favorite gas check bullet also shoot well without gc?

Look forward to your input. Thanks.

You will be hard pressed to beat the RCBS or it's clones. I have one from NOE. Accurate makes a clone along w/ a modified version w/ a larger meplat. I have that one but haven't developed a load for it yet. Isn't there another thread exactly like this one because I know I typed the same thing the other day.

RCBS 35 200, liked this bullet so much I got another one from NOE just to have it in 4 cavity.

Another vote for the RCBS 35-200 FN. My Marlin loves it and it does put the smack down on a whitetail.

Lyman 358315! Never tried an RCBS. I used to load for my two boys Marlin 336's with microgroove rifling. Both boys, as teenagers, would shoot one inch, 10 shot groups at 100 yards from the bench. The load was 11gr Unique and crimped in the crimp groove. Lube was Lyman 50/50 alox. Lots of cheap trigger time!

Not sure if saeco still makes it but if your wanting a 200 gr plain base look for their #351 mould sorta looks like the rcbs but with a smaller flat nose . My 35 bolt action loves that boolit on top of 12 gr of 2400 .as others have said the rcbs is a good one same can be said about the RD 190 gr that was designed for the Marlins both are GC designs never shot without the chex on but do it all the time with my 30 cal bool its if you keep the vel. in the 22 lr range

Can't say it's the best but a buddy and I are feeding a Rem model 14, model 141 in 35 rem as well as a model 760 in 35 rem with the RCBS 35-200 grainer. We never needed to try any other mold. We also load it in our 350 rem mags, my 358 win rifle and pistol. COWW water quenched with checks works best for us.

The RCBS has worked excellent in my 357 mag single shot pistol, 357 mag & 350 mag rifle's ,
Im sure that is the most popular 200 gr boolet out there , one inch groups @ 100 yards are not uncommon from pistol or rifle, ive shot about 5,000 of them over the years, the others i can't attest to!

My RCBS 35-200-FN casts beautiful 210 grain bullets that shoot wonderfully at 1800 fps in my Browning BLR. For hunting loads I push it to 2300 fps with IMR 4895.

I also shoot the Lyman (358315). I've never got the 1" @100yds that Yodogsandman has but have gotten close. I've also tried the RCBS 35-200 mentioned in other posts here and can echo their praise - great boolit - but since I don't have that mold, the Lyman suits my needs just fine. Oh, my 336 doesn't (without a bunch of force) chamber the RD boolit so I don't use it. I did test with it a bit and it was the most accurate of the three.

I've shot the Lyman 358315, the Ranch Dog 360-190-FN and the RCBS 35-200-FN. My rifle likes the RCBS boolit.

I have both the Lyman 358315 and RCBS .35-200-FN. I like the RCBS design better and get better accuracy from it in my 336D.

I've been shooting the Saeco #354 (185gr w/gc) in my 357 carbines and 35Rem. It was designed with a shorter RF nose for use in revolvers, but no problems feeding from the levers. The #353 is the similar design, but plainbase.

I suspect that you would have to seat the RCBS 35-200 rather deeply to make it work in a revolver.

I shoot the RCBS 35-200-FN in a S&W Model 686 with no problems. I don't remember offhand whether I use the crimp groove or crimp over the shoulder. It is very accurate in the revolver.

I'd like to clarify that the Lyman 358315 mold I used was an older one cavity mold. I can't say how the newer ones work.

Thank you all for sharing your experience. Got an RCBS on order as of this PM.
