Many gave all
All gave some

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

For our tomorrow
They gave their today

Not 1 mention of what today is on Chiraq radio.

My flag flown at 1/2 mast is the only flag flying on my entire 1/2 mile long city block.

How soon most forget the price many paid.

I pray we still have a giant to awaken.

TV on news channel today for background noise. I have not heard a single mention of "The day that will live in Infamy" (Pearl Harbor). No mention of the losses that day, nor of "The Greatest Generation" who fought the terrible war that erupted for this nation because of Pearl Harbor.

Perhaps the "Infamy" should reside with the Progressive-Liberal-Socialist-Communist influence that has infected our country over the last 115 years, slowly and methodically diminishing the Republic and replacing it with a Socialist State that secretly despises and denigrates the "warrior's" tasked with defending the nation. In the last 70 years we have moved from a nation where almost all able bodied men served this country in a time of trial, to the current condition where less than 1% of the population has served in the Armed Forces.

Guess there is too much national attention and demand for action concerning the death of criminals and thugs as Police attempt to arrest law breakers actively committing criminal acts, or as our national press (TV, Radio, and Print) attempt to resurrect complaints from 40 years ago, of women just now complaining/charging sexual assault by a famous black actor 40 years ago.

always had a respect/ interest in December 7th. and not just because it is my birthday.

i keep the original silk 48 star flag flown on my grandparents house during WWII on my wall. It is far too valuable to hang outside and let it get damaged.

thanks to all those that have, and still do serve!

I pray we still have a giant to awaken.

The fearsome giant still lives, only now, with the boot of tyranny on her throat.

The Japanese made a big mistake on December 7th. Years later
the Emporer told his people that the Americans had made the sun
touch the earth. They should have passed up on Pearl.

Laying in a hospital bed on Sunday morning, Dec 7, 2014, recovering from open heart surgery - aortic valve replacement + 4 vein CABG (coronary artery bypass graft), I took the opportunity to question 6 young nurses and CNAs concerning what they knew of that particular day. Five of the six had no idea whatsoever of the significance of the date while one said with confidence that it was the anniversary of D-Day! They all seemed amazed when I told them that 73 years ago, on a Sunday and almost at the exact time I was speaking to them (a bit after 6AM PST), the Japanese Empire was attacking Pearl Harbor, initiating World War II and costing the lives of over 2400 servicemen. Makes me wonder what they're teaching about that war in both High School and College history courses ....

I'll always remember that day because 2 months later my father, who was a battalion surgeon in the 7th Division and a second Lt, shipped out and we did not see him again until a few months after our forces took Okinawa. He was shipped home at that time due to having contracted yellow fever but he came home holding the rank of Lt. Col and a Bronze Star with V for Valor. I had a hard time getting him to talk about his experiences but from what he said, I know I'll never forget the history of that war.

Here in the U K we where on our last legs,Europe was occupied by Nazi Forces. Our armies had been defeated in the East and we where fighting guerrilla wars on most fronts. The infamous attack on Pearl Harbour was the catalyst when the USA entered the war that led to the defeat of the Axis Forces of Japan and Germany. Many brave souls where lost and it is fitting that they are remembered with pride.
Now we have yet another enemy that is hell bent on dominating the free world, once more that same determination must be harnessed to crush those who would destroy that freedom so hardly won by those heroes during 1939 to 1945.

Erased is correct. Seems few parents really know what is and what is not being taught in schools today. Several years ago I read a high school American history book and it was shocking, several years ago and it's worse now. In that book in one paragraph there was a few sentences on the Revolution, very little of the Civil War. There was an entire chapter on Janis Joplin, a 1960's drug addict rock star that died of an overdose. What was mostly omitted from her chapter was the drugs part. Pretty sad.

It's called the dumbing down of America. They are only taught what is politically correct today.
Might make someone angry, or irritate their sensitives, don't ya know......

I was 8 years old when WW2 ended.I have memories of school friends who did not get their dads back.My Dad returned to England from Africa, he was in the R W A F F,Royal West African Frontier Force and served in Northern Nigeria where he contracted Malaria, that reoccurred each year and weekend him to the extent that he died aged 46 leaving a wife and four children.A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then but those days are still vivid in my mind the men who died during the War and those who died due to it must never be lost from our minds to do so would be an insult to their Bravery.

My being only 54, I find myself brought to tears when the war memorial holidays roll around. just the sight of a veteran wearing just a simple baseball cap that says Vietnam vet, rips my heart out.

And every year, I am progressively more saddened........ and more proud of all those who have served. And i find myself with an even more bitter taste in my mouth every time I see or hear about that piece of buffalo manure and his transvestite partner who occupy the Whitehouse.

I have not and will not ever forget about the price all those brave vets paid, So I can contribute this short statement.

And about jane fonda.............. don't even get me started.
