I was wondering the same thing. Hope it's temporary because he had a lot of interesting posts. Also, I am almost out of smoked canned salmon and I have more moulds to trade for it :)

They were going into the bush and build a cabin wasn't it? Said he would be off for awhile, no net and to far to town.

They were building 2 cabins in the bush, and moving there, he is in the process of getting his son set up to crab down there, pretty much permantly, when they get the place set up.

He bought some state acreage, not sure what he had to give for it, but probably in the six or seven thousand per acre range.

As someone one mentioned, the reason Alaska is so expensive is because it's worth it.
