You'll get a lot of votes for Auber Instruments, this one-

No doubt it's a good product. Another popular one is Mypin at a little over half the price. Look on eBay for Mypin TA4-SNR or SRR.

If you want to disconnect the thermocouple, Auber has good connectors that are made with the correct metals for TC use. Look at TCCON, TCCON2, TCCON3-

There's a section of enclosures that might be of interest.

Are you looking for fully-assembled or controllers in kit form? Forum member OBIII makes them-

An ex-forum member sold a lot of his controllers here and still has a website-
www.jconninv.com (http://www.jconninv.com)

OBIII has a nice looking unit too and he's 'local'.

FWIW I'm not a promoter of any of this, just listing the info I know about. The main thing is how great a PID controller is to the art of casting!

I got mine from James at WWW.jconninv.com (http://www.jconninv.com), I opted for the DIY kit. Finally got to use the unit today and was amazed at how
the temp was controlled and how much the temp could drop with just adding a few sprues from a 4 cavity mold, but in all it seemed to
hold the temp with in +/- 4 or 5 degrees. It is well worth the money just to know what temp the melt is at any given time.

Hope this helps, Len H.

Kyle623 (a member here) at Redneck Machining (a Vendor Sponsor here) makes some nice PID's, I've been more than pleased with mine.

Wanted to take a look at his stuff but be danged if I can figure out how to find a list of the sponsor's other than the ones that flash on and off at the top of the screen.

On the main page, scroll down to Commercial Sector, the first listing is Vendor Sponsors. It's alphabetical from there.

Guess it's the Main Forum's page and I haven't been down that far in so long I forgot it was there! Thanks.

I got one of the first (sn0002) Frozone made a couple of years ago. Use back and forth between lead pot and bullet coating curing oven. Always 100% reliable. His website is jconninv.com.

I have all different brands. Some are easier to tune than others but they all work well.

I have S/N 13,, thought it might be a bad omen. Thing works like a charm, so good that I built 3 others so I wouldn't have to move them around. The Frozone unit has more bells and whistles than I need for my other applications so I went elcheapo on the others.
