Hello Folks,

My older SRH has the grips with the laminated wood insert panels, and my newer one has the Hogue rubber grips. I prefer the older grips, as they are slightly larger and fit my hand better. I tried a Hogue wooden grip, and it is even smaller than the Hogue rubber grip. I would like a grip slightly larger than the original Ruger grips with the laminated panels.

I wrote to Herretts about getting a Jordan Trooper, and they quoted me a ridiculous price, which included shipping the gun to them and $75 to ship it back to me, $120 for the grips, and a $150 custom fee. All in all, it came to over $400!

There are people here who make custom revolver grips. Can anybody recommend a maker of grips for the SRH, preferably in the Jordan Trooper style?

Thank, Tom

Hi Harles,

Couldn't find anything on the Dillon site. However, I did find the original Ruger grip and the locater pin for $10 at Midway.

http://www.midwayusa.com/find?userSearchQuery=ruger+gp100+grips

They do not include the side panels or the screw, but I found a wide assortment of handmade panels with the screw included at:

http://chigsgrips.com/

for $20. Add $3 shipping from Midway, and another $3 from Chigsgrips, and I have the whole shebang for $36. Since I like the Ruger rubber/hardwood grip the best of any I've tried, it's a bargain.

Take care, Tom

Check out Altamont I bought a set for my Blackhawk here.

Just run pistol grips in the search engine and look for Altamont.

Chigs Grips makes panels for the GP/SRH grips that are some what thicker than the factory.

Here`s a pic of 1 of the sets I have, my hands are to large for "large" mechanix gloves & not snug in "X-large"

I`d contact em & describe what your needs are , He`s a real craftsman at what he does with the panels ,1 more of an inserted case .

I've already ordered a set of panels from Chigs Grips, but I may ask him about making a thicker set, as you suggest. I'm willing to buy more than one set at his very reasonable prices.
