Awesome buck, and with a flintlock. That is one of my goals.

Nice buck, particularly doing it the more challenging way. Congrats!

To be honest....the Lyman shoots almost as good as an inline....as long as the weather is dry.

I can keep it on an 8" steel plate to 125 yds....after that I'm done.

Good going! I've only been out hunting once. My back is so bad I could only stand an hour of hunting. I kind of dread shooting a deer or elk this year, no idea if I will be able to pack them out.

Congratulations on a fine buck. I'm partial to traditional bp rifles myself although mine uses a cap. Never shot a flintlock before but would sure like to.

I've only shot a flinter a few times. That was enough to see they would some severe getting used to.
That would be a nice buck with any gun but my hats off to ya for closing the deal with a flinter!

Gotta love that soft, heavy, slow lead. The only real "bang flop" I've had was a very close shot with an 1858 Remington and a .452" round ball right behind the shoulder. Congratulations on a fine buck and staying with the sights through the shot. I don't know much about flinters except lock time and $$$ are inversely proportional, my experience anyway.

That's a fine buck and doubly so to be taken with a flintlock...congratulatons! I've looked hard at the lyman deer stalker before, but never tried one. Good to know it's an accurate one.

Magnificent buck. I have trained many of them in situation awareness and quick reaction when I have hunted with my flinter. None of them have ever leaked blood on me though.

Take a youngster with you and teach him how to hunt. In return he can help with all the heavy lifting. My uncle was a hunter all his life but can't do it alone anymore either. He taught me all I know about hunting, skinning, and processing meat.
