Theoben Eliminator .25 (30 fpe Springer)

I just threw down to chunk of change for an interesting rifle.its a gas ram rifle of considerable size it takes two hands to cock and man is it accurate. it was custom tuned and adjustable cheek and butt plate added by airgunwerks.You're not going to do much more than 20 to 50 shots at a session cuz its that much of a workout to cock the beast.I've only had it a day but I've already put some Eurasian doves of the table.

I have a Classic carbine in .20 cal, your rifles little brother :) The Theobens are so nice, Python like blue and smooth as silk. Lots of people used to pump the gas spring WAY up and they were really harsh and destroyed the piston seal.Theoben then sealed the ram to prevent that. At the factory level they are very sweet rifles. The Eliminator is huge, just consider the cocking as a good workout :) My short bareled carbine is a fair way up the scale on cocking effort, but they really grow on you, had mine since 92.

this is day 2 and I'm just starting to figure it out. I figured out by turning the gun sideways I can cock it one handed. It is really preferring the JSB exact pellets over all others. Groups are starting to come in under half inch at 25 meters.now when I am cocking my r1 it feels like a toy.

Harry I had to revise my Cocking method to butt sideways on leg and using right arm to cock my R1.

I can do about 20 rounds in one session.

That other one must be a real butt kicker.

That is a big one...:) I acquired an RX2 in 5mm and it took some effort to cock. It soon started seeing 300-round afternoon sessions. When I am properly practiced holding it, it is accurate indeed, but with a 20 cal PCP available now I am slightly un-practiced.

My R1 has a 18 Lb cocking spring. It gets old after a while. You probably bought that rifle to hunt small game. If you just wanted a plinker a Beeman R7 would be a great way to go. That monster you got will bring down a raccoon size critter easily. Nice gun by the way. I really came close to buying one my self.

I have a bunch of plinkers.I got sick of my Maurader and the air thing so I replaced it with this.My R1 I can shoot all day this is about a 50 shot affair before it gets old.MY R1 has way more than 18l cocking effort though I believe.I bet its closer to 30.

George: the HW35's were 35 lbs of force to cock. R1's are more like 50. I can cock my HW35 dozens of times with my left arm.

The R1 I can only do 2-3 times. I adopted a right arm method for running that gun but I am still limited to 20ish shots before my accuracy goes to pot.

They are really powerful guns and mine will put a 22gr H&N Barakuda pellet 1" deep in a dry phone book at 50 yards.

The Theobin sounds lots more powerful.

My R1 I can shoot quite a bit without much problem,mine isn't near 50# cocking effort IMHO. The Theoben is about 60 I would bet and not a plinker for sure. Mine was tuned by David Slade and has a sweet trigger.Its not as accurate as my R1 .177 but pretty accurate. My R1 .177 shoots many 1/2" at 25 meters and sometimes much smaller.The Theoben is 3/4" most of the time and 1/2" for the small ones.I like the power of the .25 so much I have a .25 cal Hatsan 125 sent off for a gas ram conversion and tune.

I also cock my Theoben like you do your R1.Easier on my old shulders.

Good call on the 30 pounds cocking effort on the R1. I also checked Beeman's specs. My kids don't like shooting the R1 because of the 34 pounds cocking effort. I can't get my R7 back from them till they run out of pellets. Both are great guns for springers. I bought a Air Arms S410 pre charged .22 cal from Straight Shooters Precision Air Guns and I love it. It has a 10 rd magazine and no calking effort, and no spring twang. I is the most accurate gun I own. My wife even loves to shoot this gun. We buy Mothers iced animal cookies, we lick and stick them all over at the range and we go on a safari hunt for pink bears white buffalos and other animals. The gun is topped of with a Leupold Vari-x III and nobody can miss with this gun.

I sold a PCP to buy the theoben.My kids are kind of mad I did,they really liked the ease of shooting the Maurader.Id probably buy the 25 marauder if I get another.
