My melanoma came back and I see the DR tomorrow to discuss treatment options. I had a pet scan Friday and that will tell the amount and exactly where it all is. The CT scan didn't look very promising. 3rd time around. Not looking for sympathy. Got to play the cards we are dealt. Hope the DR visit is better than I am prepared for. Mark:cry:

Mark, I am praying for you. Been down that road, not pleasant, a 3 year journey ending with somewhat unpleasant residual effects, but thanks to the Lord's grace I'm still here to aggravate my wife and neighbors. Can't do some of the things I used to, but I cheerfully do the things I can and don't worry about the rest. I'm available if you ever need someone to talk to. GW

Thanks all. Only 2 tumors in my chest cavity. The spots in my abdomen weren't anything according to the scan and going back 2 years ago they were there and the same size if not smaller now. My surgical oncologist is hoping he can cut them out and do a different biotherapy this time. He is checking with Oregon Health science University about a possible new treatment trials they are doing. He studied in Texas at the biggest cancer center there. He is the DR for melanoma from Frisco north to Seattle. I have a lot of faith in him and a lot of people praying for me. I will do my part to beat it.

Hi...

You can beat this...I know, I was diagnosed with saliva gland cancer which had spread to the lymph nodes in my throat and terminal metastatic lung cancer two and a half years ago.

After some exhaustive tests, rather nasty surgeries, some rigorous therapy and a long course of radiation treatments, I am cancer free.

Prayer, excellent doctors, something of a stubborn streak and the love of a good woman and our children pulled me through that ordeal.

FWIW, that wasn't my first time to that rodeo...I had lymphoma in 1977.

A positive attitude, grim determination and prayer helps your survival odds...I know. Been there, done that...never did get the t-shirt.

Do not give up...no matter how tough it gets. Fight like your life depends on it, because...it does.
