If you don't have enough to share with the whole class, spit it in the trash can.

Second grade teacher Freda Wade, on the topic of gum.

If you are listening to the radio and a song you don't like comes on, and you go to change the channel and you find that the radio isn't on. You may have some good stuff there.[smilie=p::bigsmyl2::veryconfu Oh yaaa !

If you're talking about the caffiene I had this morning or the ETOH I had this evening, I'll agree. Most of the others I (thankfully) have little use for.

PS to the above.
I did discover an old home remedy that helped quite a bit.
Take a tea bag, steep it in hot water, you can go ahead and make a cup of tea if you like, then place the warm moist tea bag between lip and gum or tongue and gum near the affected tooth.

Turns out tannic acid seeping from the tea bag both lessens the pain and partly brings down the swelling.
After learning of this, and finding out it does work after a fashion, I remembered reading of the use of tannic acid wraps to treat third degree burns during WW2. Though effective they had to quit using it when they found it caused far worse scarring than other methods.
