Hello all,
I have been casting lee TL452-230-TC. (http://www.titanreloading.com/molds/bullet-molds/45-acp-45-auto-rim-45-colt/lee-dc-mold-tl452-230-2r-)
I am loading these in 45 ACP and I am just looking for soft loads to shooting steel.
These are the mirco groove bullets and I lube with the Lee Alox
I am wondering if anyone has load data for the bullet using SR4756 or titegroup?
Also can anyone tell me if 1.17 is the correct COL?

Yes they do have data, but not for that Lee bullet. the Lee bullet needs to be with a COL of 1.17. The LRN Data on their website calls for a COL of 1.22 and that means there is more space inside the case when the bullet is seated using a LRN bullet. So when I load with the Lee bullets the COL is smaller measure and that means less space in the case and higher pressures. I was wondering if anyone have any data for the Lee bullet TL452-230-TC using IMR SR 4756

For 45 ACP low pressure loads, just use a load for a standard groove bullet of the same weight. Don't fret too much about OAL as long as the rounds will chamber, use the "plunk test". In theory, yes less case capacity will increase pressures but use starting loads and the plunk test and you'll be fine...

The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook #4 has load data for the Lee #TL452-230-TC using Tightgroup powder on page #278

45 ACP 230 grain Lee #TL452-230-TC (#2 Alloy) 1.170 OAL
Using Tightgroup powder:
Start 4.2 grains = 804 FPS (13,600 CUP)
MAX. 4.7 grains = 871 FPS (17,900 CUP)

The Speer #11 and #12 have load data for 45 ACP using SR4756 powder.

From the Speer #11 (1987) page #435
45 ACP 230 grain Speer lead .452 LRN boolit. (No listed OAL)

Using SR4756 powder:
Start 6.0 grains = 783 FPS
MAX. 6.5 grains = 848 FPS
Test pistol is a 5 inch barrel length Colt 1911 Government model.

Using SR4756 powder:
Start 6.0 grains = 783 FPS
MAX. 6.5 grains = 848 FPS

The OAL (if referenced) is merely what they used with in test pistol, or universal receiver's load. Find an OAL that plunks in your gun, and work your way up from the suggested start load and you should be fine.
