Don't know who that ugly s.o.b. is but that is my shop.

I've seen worse! Nice shop. Love the apron and Man Cave sign!

If I may, I'd suggest some type of ventilation system. Don't want to breathe in the lead vapors from heating.

Good suggestion. I will mostly do outside or very near the garage door. I had both big garage doors open, so 20 feet of the 40 foot front was open. I wanted to do it there yesterday so that I could see the lights on the PID because the day before when I was outside I couldn't see them and wasn't sure it was working correctly. It gets cold here in the winter, so will have to figure out something better.

Even a small fan to keep vapors away. Hot lead has a distinctive smell for me and I can tell when it's on and warmed up. I could tell my buddy had his lead on outside when I visited last Sunday and wasn't even near it.

Maybe I should check my lead levels.

Funny you should mention a small fan. I have a small fan sitting on the next shelf down on my casting bench. Didn't even think of it. Had if more for if the mold got too hot, but didn't have it plugged in.

Man cave sign was a present from my boys. I really like it.

I passed through your fair city a couple times today. Thought about stopping in to see Ted, but time was pressing.
I can tell your shop is WAY too organized. I can still make out the walls, and I think I detect that there is some flat bench space not covered two feet deep with "stuff"!

You aren't heating lead up enough to produce vapors. They happen when it transitions from a liquid to gas. You have more to worry about from any wax or sawdust you put in the pot.
