Just shot my first attempts at casting .311 185 gr sized to .309, loaded in 30..06 with 16 gr of 2400 in a Model 1917 Eddystone, rifle was much more accurate than with jacketed, several 3 shot, 1" groups at 50 yds. Load was very easy on the shoulder. My question is with jacketed bullets the rifle shoots several inches high, now it is shooting 6 inches low with the cast boolets which is better but now what do I do to get shooting to more point of aim? Thanks, Don

Try setting your sights at 200 meters. If it's still shooting a bit low then take it up a notch and shoot again. You'll find that the load you are shooting will get on the paper with the issue sights set around 200-300 meters with most of the old battle rifles.

Hope this helps,:-D

Thanks, I was using the 200yd battle site, I will try at 300 yds next trip to the range, I'm hooked on cast after 1 range trip. Don

Also, you could try 18 grns of 2400 with your boolit. For some reason 18 grns shoots better for me than 16 grns in the old milsurps with the 170-190 grn slugs.

Glad to hear you're hooked on the "silver stream.":Fire:

Yup. It hooked me!! Only a small percentage of the rounds I fired last year were Jacketed bullets. There fun to make and cheap to shoot!!:-D
