I shoot the .54 barrel on my lefty Great Plains flinter. The .50 barrel... just don't use it and been tinkering with ideas for years about what to do with it.
Make it a smooth bore? Rebore to bullet rifling? Line it to be a squirrel and rabbit gun?
Any yall redone a GPR? What did you come up with?

I want a few barrels for my Lyman's Deerstalker so that it's something along the lines of a T/C Contender.

My .50 cal PRB barrel, the stainless bullet/sabot barrel topped with a Malcolm style scope, a .50 cal barrel bored to 28 ga, and a barrel either lined or custom to be a small game getter.

is it a round ball twist or the 1/32 fast twist? if it is the fast twist the answer would be a 500 grain paper patched bullet. i find the single wrap chase patch works best with those deeper groove fast twist .50/s

Most fun I've had came when I had a .50 T/C barrel recut to a .54 with a specific rate of twist for a round ball. Wow is it accurate. Game getter, too.
