I finally took a nice Alaskan moose! I wish I could say I did it with cast, but at the last minute both my cast loads started acting up. I had worked up a couple good cast loads for the 35Wheln Imp and my own wildcat, the .350GP. Both loads went south at the same time and I still don't know why. I defaulted to my .330GP with a 225gr Nosler Partition. I spined him at 180yards. A lifetime of shooting and practice went behind this one shot and it flew true! Hunt of a lifetime for me. This was our second moose hunt, both being unguided. My bull wnet 62" and Scotts was nearly 65". Everything came together the second week and at one time I had 4 bulls answering at the same time. Hopefully I can take a Michigan whitetail this season with the .350PG and my 210gr cast from Accurate Molds. Field dressing a whitetail now will be akin to handling a large chipmunk after taking care of (2) moose in 3 days!

Happy hunting!

As usual I had to work straight through moose season, Bbut I just finished up with chicken fried moose steaks, real mashed taters and gravy for supper. Courtesy of my neighbor. I just got in last night, so haven't seen him to hear the story on it, but there were steaks in the freezer. lol

Wow! Nice!

How does Moose compare to elk or whitetail as table fare?

RugerFan...We hunted west of McGrath.

I wasn't too far from you. A buddy and I did a float hunt and pulled out at Nikolai. The plane that picked us up had just come from McGrath after dropping off some moose hunters. The pilot was also back hauling a rather large moose rack and some meat from a bull that a woman had shot in the area.
