Since most if not all of the print shops have long ago quit using lead type, Linotype metal in my area (Ohio) has become as scarce as hens teeth. The last batch I bought I had to drive over 50 miles away just to get a small amount of it (400 lbs.).
I have quite making bullets for my buddies as I now am hording all the Linotype I have as it makes such good rifle bullets. When this runs out using the Lyman no. 2 formula and buying 50/50 bar soldier or buying tin from the scrap yard will really up the cost of making lead bullets.
But on the other hand seeing how expensive jacketed bullets have recently become do to the world shortage of copper the lead bullet may have been saved from extinction.
