Anyone use Enforcer for reduced 30-30 loads? All the burn rate charts show it about even with 2400, which I have seen data for, so it should be possible. I just don't have the experience to muck about with this without more data. My eyes and fingers are valuable to me. BTW, I'm shooting a Lee 309-170 FN cast from COWW and lubed with 50/50. The rifle is a 94 Winchester. Thanks for the help.

Ramshot Enforcer is the same powder as AA4100. Western Powders has been called to verify that.

It is slightly slower than both 2400 and AA#9. You won't get in any trouble using 2400 data. You might try the Accurate Arms site for 30/30 data.

Thanks, Frank. I THOUGHT it would be OK, but... Exactly what I need

I believe it's between aa-9 and aa-1680.
I just got 15 pounds of aa-4100 from dick casull that i'll be burning up in something.

It's basic burn rate is between #9 and H110.

I'm using 20 gns of Ramshot Enforcer in my 30-40 Krag under a 220 gn boolit for around 1800 fps.

HUMMMMM - I'm at work right now - how close are the 30-30 and the 30-40? Oh, and runfiverrun - 15 pounds! I can't find pistol powderof ANY kind and you score 15 pounds!!!! You do know that no one likes you :kidding::kidding:

30-30 is a bit smaller, I'd try 16 grs and work up to 18 or so.
I traded him 8 pounds of unique but really don't need the 4100, I have 4-5 other powders in that burn range.
I think he just got tired of shooting blue dot in his 45 acp [he is about 80 now]

I gotta change states! Unique, blue dot AND 4100! Seriously, though, thank you. I shot the Unique load w/o gas checks. Will 16grs of Enforcer put me into gas check territory?

Yes, I think it would. 13 - 14 would be more like PB velocitys. Start there and work up. If you have a chronograph, you can produce some valuable data for others.

frnkeore - chrono is on my wish list.

we got chrono's here too
I think I would try a filler with the lowered amounts of this powder.
I'd personally feel more comfortable anyway until I got a bit better acquainted with it.

powder is on the tight side here too, but it's not been too bad you just have to stay on top of it.
I travel quite a bit for my job so I keep my eyes open everywhere I go.
I seen pb, bullseye, 800-x, and another pistol powder on the shelves this past week and kept right on going.
I should have grabbed a pound of the rl-22 though.

We use a lot of Enforcer/4100 in the ASSRA and ISSA matches, in cases as large as 32/40 and as small as the 25/20 WCF. We get extremely good ES with it w/o any "fillers". I'd suggest trying w/o fillers first and then add them later to see if there is any benefit. We use mag primers with it exclusively.

I gave 4100 a trial run in my swede a couple of days ago. I put a cruise missile on top of 16.5 grains. Due to rain I didn't set up the chrono but the primers showed no pressure signs. Hopefully next trip I can set up the chrono and get some numbers. I figure to start at 17 grns and work up. I was using win large pistol primers.
