So what exactly do I have here? I am helping a friend try to move her husband's collection. I'm not really a blackpowder guy, and haven't found any great info online about these. I've seen the blackbox 2nd Gen, but not really much on these 3rd Gens. I'm looking for an approximation on value. These range from an 1832 Trapper, 1849 pocket police, 1851 Navy, 1860's, etc. I'm trying to right by her and make sure I get what these are worth. The one pictured is labeled from the factory on the box F1500 Pocket Police. All of them are as you see here, NIB, in the outer shipping box with the Colt grey box inside. I'm sure they are going to range in value based on the model, but I need some help getting in the ballpark. I mean are these $300 pieces, or $1000 pieces? I really have no idea on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not big on commemoratives or special runs but I like this old gun, appears to be an 1860. I'd do a search of Gunbroker to see what the going price is.

Looks like an 1862 pocket police - 36 cal. Signature Series 3rd generation Colt. Gunbroker has them at asking $550-$600. There's a starting place for you. You might also try Blue Book of Black Powder prices.

Pretty Colt. All the original 1860s w/fluted cylinders that I've seen had fully as opposed to partially fluted cylinders. Still, real pretty.

You will see a lot of them on Gunbroker. The third generation guns are slightly soft right now although I'm not sure why. Some say it's due to where they were assembled and with whose parts but they are still very fine guns. I've owned all generations and they were all good. I'll be interested to see the listings for these....you may tempt me. A signature series is easy to tell....Sam Colt's name is inscribed in gold on the back of the pistol grip.

Thanks for the info fellers.

Shooter, I think the prettiest one in the bunch is the Cochise Dragoon…also the most valuable from all I've been able to find. I'm not sure how long it'll take to list them all, but if you have anything in particular you are looking for, let me know. There are 23 of these things, plus accessory kits for 6 so odds are I may have one.

Looks like a Colt M 1862 Police, 36 cal. The flutes on the M 1860 run the length of the cylinder and of course the 1860 would be 44 cal. Agreed about current market for all those is a little soft. Too bad because they are fine functional revolvers. And generally the entire "commemorative" firearms market has always been soft. Also agreed, the NIB remakes of most Colt C&B revolvers run about 500-600, unless someone is looking for a very specific model to fill a collection.

what was already said is true, and yes, by all means try to list them here first. I have noticed that they always don't sell fast, but if one of the members want it, it is gone in a short time, and you save the gb fees and stuff.
I am a bp collector too, so if you don't list them, I wouldn't feel bad about not spending my money.....(400 - 600 for the colts, and I don't know what a 1832 trapper is)

Very nice bunch of Colts! Some of the Colt collector purist's deny these are real Colts, but indeed they are! I have a Signature model 1860 Army and a 1861 Navy and both are great shooting guns. Good luck with them!

They were made in Italy and finished by Colt, thus the Colt lable. Not quite the same thing, but as close as it gets any more. I'd love to have one but can't afford those prices - even face to face depending on where you live in VA.

The various generations were made in a couple places and with parts from different suppliers. The third generation guns seem to be the least desired among collectors but for no real substantial reason really. Regardless of the generation they are far above the typical Italian replica in quality.
