For dual use in a Rossi Puma M92 rifle and a Uberti 1875 Outlaw revolver. Sized 0.454" I'd just as soon use the same bullet and load in both - what do you guys suggest? That 45-283 GB looked good, but what else is out there?

If you don't mind spending the $'s, Saeco #955 is a good one, it's a 255gr rnfp. As my family shoots CAS I have 2 4cavs that drop at .455-.456Ø and weight 260gr in a mix of 50/50 WW/Lead. These are used in 3 rossi 92's, RBH's and Uberti 1875's and there CSA clones.

Stick as close to 255 grains as you can because of that fixed sight revolver. Move far off that weight and your POI will change.

I'm cheap and have had good luck with Lee. Their 255 SWC that I shoot in a Blackhawk might give feeding problems in your Rossi, but their 452-255-RF seems worth a try. If you already have handles, it's only about a $35 gamble.

What I use in my Marlin LA, my Uberti 1866 and several Ruger 45 Colt SA's is the RCBS 45-230CM. With wheel weights, it cast at 230 and I size at 452 but is large enough to size 454 if you want. You can vary the powder charge to adjust the POI. Easy casting bullet, easy to size and large lube groove - and best of all - it shoots really well in everything I've tired it in, which includes S&W 25's without any leading.

I use the Lee RF and really like it. It drops @ .4525 from my mold in WW. Cast softer they worked good in a Colt clone with .454 cylinder. In 6 cave they just fall out of mold too. Shallow lube grooves but that never seemed a factor.
