Hi,
I thought I would pass this info on for anyone that is looking for a "cheap" but well built working knife! I just recieved mine in the mail today and was very impressed.

Yes this is "Made in China" so I'm not interested in hearing about that. We have been sold down the river by our "leaders" that it does not really matter anymore! Trust me!

I work pretty hard and use a knife all day everyday for different task and even carry my own stones so I have a sharp knife when I need it. I was buying $60 pocket knives and wasn't impressed. Then went to $150 Benchmade and the knife is so nice I don't want to mess it up using it working!

Found the Schrade brand of knives which are really Elan/Bee brand from China. My knife was $29 SHIPPED and looks better than the $70-80 knives I was using before. They use a Chiness stainless that is comparable to AUS-8!

Just thought someone might be looking like me fore a cheap decent working knife!

Nice looking knife! I do not know what kind of cutting you have to do, but for me there is not much that beats the humble but oh so super functional Opinel knives with a carbon blade and a Viroblock locking ring. Cheap, light weight, nothing there that can break, no spring, all functional with their thin, high carbon steel blades that can easily be honed truly razor sharp and hold an edge very well.

Hi,
Thanks for the response! I've had a few Opinels (made in France) and I love carbon steel, but time marches on I guess. I now prefer actually bigger solid steel handled pocket knives. The Schrade I got uses the same steel in the frame lock as the blade!

Here is another big folder I bought that has excellent reviews, an Enlan EL-01 tactical folder. I paid $18 SHIPPED!

No help here. The leadership where I work forbids the possession of "WEAPONS" on company property, and has posted notices to that effect at all entrances. I'm not ready to go just yet, but more and more I feel like I'm not going to miss this world much when I'm gone.

So you will have to bring your lunch in a plastic bag with you then? Everything can be used as a weapon, a good steel lunch box, a spanner, a ball-pen, a tie, you name it and is usable as a weapon some how. I can understand, somebody does not feel comfortable with people walking around with gun grips sticking out over trouser bands but a pocket knife is a tool, not a weapon.

I hear you sir. I know it and you know it, but once it's engraved in stone there's nothing left to say.
