went to the Roanoke gun show today. not much happenin' but really didn't expect it to be as the big Galax gun show & flea market is also this weekend. anyhow, gun prices are easin' back into the world of sanity price-wise. tables full of ar's for 500 bucks & up. same guns that were 8 or 9 hundred a few months ago so, there's that. guess the ammo sellers didn't get the memo though as they're still through the roof stupid.

Went to the Indy 1500 Gun & Knife Show two days in a row. One to shop and one to help with the Marine Corps League booth. Traffic was way down, gun prices seemed reasonable, more powder was available and 22 LR is still outrageous. I found a vendor with a good supply of Accurate 5744: 1 lb. cans for $32.00 but no where near the $57.00 I had seen just recently. Winchester and CCI primers were going for $28.00-$32.00/1000. New brass was a better deal than used: Starline 45 Colt-$25.00/100.

I headed to the Hillsville show and flea market Friday. Near there a place called New River Sports had just received a buncha powder - even got a 4 pounder of 231 !

Same at the one in Sequim, Wa. Prices on some long guns have dropped but not enough for me. No molds or gas checks. Still fun though and afterwards went to Rendezvous. Great day

hey shooterg, if NewRiverSports had better prices than where ya usually go I feel for ya. was in there a couple weeks ago lookin' around & checkin' prices. all the prices were worse than the gun show gougers. they wanted $11.00 a hundred for percussion caps. guess I would buy somethin' there if I absolutely needed it & couldn't find it anywhere else but, that's about the only way.

Just came from the local show, smaller than most, saw a can of 3031, 8lb metal canister, one corner crushed as in tossed from a roof,
for only $250. I was gonna jump on it, but it looked as if someone already had!!!!

Here in AZ, a year ago there was a gun show somewhere EVERY weekend!

Now they are becoming sparce. Guess people are getting fed up with the gouging!

Good reports! Glad to see some things headed back towards normal, whatever that may turn out to be. I saw plenty of powder on a LGS store shelf, actually a side room in a hardware store. He was making some pretty friendly offers of some nice old long guns but I'm all done buying guns for awhile. Send me a PM if you're looking for a nice old Model 12 in 16 or 20 ga.

Found 3031 powder for 25.78 a pound yesterday...had been looking for it for quite a while. Seems like we are rounding the corner...albeit it is a long **** curve.

Forgot to mention the LGS had powder just under $28, thinking about trying some 4227. Only pistol powder was something from VV that I've never seen before.

Bubba's right about the prices being high, but hey, 4 lbs, of 231 will load well over 4500 .45's, so even if I spend one cent a round more , that's a lot better than buying factory or not shooting. My lead is free, so I'm still coming out OK.
