NEEBE to case fillers.
I know I'm on the right site, but not sure if I'm on the right forum.
I have searched the forums, been through the sticky's and can't find detailed info on fillers.
Maybe it's so easy it doesn't need one, but before I start, I am asking.

1] What types of fillers? grits, cow, fibers

2] Where to find or buy the different fillers? grits/cow =grocery store
fiber fillers=?

3] Pros/ cons of each? over pressure etc.../powder position

4] When to use fillers? certain loads/ powders

5] fill techniques? by weight/fill to the top

6] Do charges change? start/max

my powders:unique, titegroup, reddot, 2400, imr4227, 300mp, imr4895, imr4831, imr4064, wc846

my cals.:303b, 308w, 30/06, 7.5x55, 7.5x54, 7.62x54r, 8x57, 8x56r, 6.5x55 and more, but these are my main interest.

PLEASE DON'T LET THIS BE A :takinWiz:CONTEST OF WHO IS RIGHT OR WHAT IS BEST!!!!!!!!
JUST STATE YOUR EXPERIENCE.

THANKS TO ALL

There's a lot of information in this thread. It should get you on the right track.

Pay attention to post #4, it answers most of your questions. The "where to get" is later with details and pictures.

Oh! Cream of Wheat! I wondered how'ntarnation you were gonna get Ole Bossy into a cartridge case. lol

The only application I have for fillers is when down loading real black powder in .45 Colt for plinking. Quaker Quick Grits rules supreme in that application as I feed through a powder measure perfectly, is easy to see, compresses into a nice solid plug and is very stable even in long storage.

I used fillers in the 303 Brit and with H4227 among others. One of my favourites is wheat bran. What I was using the most of is wheat germ. Grits worked but tended to form hollow bases with my plain base fairly soft boolits. It does meter great though. It also raises pressure some so allowances need to be made. I tested some with the aim of reducing case volume which it did. It caused the smaller charge of H4227 to burn very well at higher pressure, producing good velocity and a low muzzle blast. Dacron has its place and is what I use as a powder positioner but I have used it as a buffer to protect those naked bases with good results. Do follow through the link above and feel free to ask questions.

Thanks 303guy I read the thread and started another about dacron and pressure changes . I think it got answered pretty accurately. I picked up that 314299 and have been working with imr 4064 and 4227 been having vertical stringing in my sweet spots now to see if that dacron will take care of that.
