I just received my Lee 356-120TC mold. A buddy who knew I cast wanted some 124gr 9mm bullets and offered to buy the mold so how could I resist. I cleaned it up and started casting from 50/50 pure/coww. First couple hundred had some wrinkles so I turned up the heat! No thermometer but Lee 4-20 pot was on 7-8 when I normally run it at about 5. These were much better. My only issue was that the sprue plate was tight to close. The sprue latch pin didn't seem to have enough clearance and was rubbing pretty hard. But it sure makes a lot of boolits in a hurry. They dropped about 125gr which I expected which is just what he ordered. Now to get them powder coated.

That is a good mold. I sold one during the last great boolit panic on ebay, and the bidding went over 300$ I intend on adding a couple more to my collection now that things have calmed down. It shoots well, and feeds in anything for the most part.

I was disappointed that it didn't come with handles. My fault for not reading the description thoroughly. Oh well I had a set that I can use til I get another pair. And a little tweaking of the sprue plate latch bolt has it opening and closing smoothly now. This thing really drops boolits easy and they come out right at .358 and with the right temp all are perfectly filled out.

The 356-120TC is a great boolit, feeds in every 9mm I have tried it in and is accurate. Really fast to cast with, I have two of them for high production.

114268How many 9mm boolits can you fit in a sandwich bag? About 600!

Nice! Are those ASBB coated with HF red?

DTPC. No ASBB. I tend to wet my boolits with mineral spirits before resizing. It helps them slide through the die a little easier and I suppose "degreases" them, although there shouldn't be any grease on them. These were water dropped out of the mold, dried, wet with MS, sized, and the DTPC'd. The PC (HF Red), just jumped on to the boolits. I DT'd them inside due to high heat and humidity, then walked the tray out to the garage to bake. Worked like a charm. It does take a while to pick the boolits out of the tub, though. So far I've done about 1700 with this mold.
