I have about $20.00 in materials and 10hrs or so in labor. The roof panels I had laying around the yard. The area was just recently logged so there was all these trees laying around. The roof is a more of a Sun Shade then anything else, and the table top is made out of pallet wood. I still need some kind of bench, I've been using a lawn chair for now. Works really well so far.

I assume you have some more log sections - I'd run some shot sections horizontally out where you want your seat and just plank that with more of the boards. Or if you are out of boards hew some of the log sections flat and use them.

If you are shooting from the end you have it twice as long as I would, so I assume you are shooting from along side of it?

The lower section of the roof is the front, I shoot from the rear. Well all the wood cost $0.00!

Looks great bud!!! I took my old particle wood desk out to the range and left it there last year. I hope it can make one more year. I placed sand bags on it and use it as a rest. With no real rain around, it doesn't fall apart as fast. Redneck is as redneck does!!:)

What a great way to use free materials. I wish I could build a range at my place but the city would probably complain.

well done and a timely post, I hope to get my new range finished soon I bought a UTV last week so I've stopped working on mine until it cools a little doctor said I had to rest awhile and slow down until my heart issue is completely healed too. :veryconfu. How sturdy is your bench? It has to be a lot cheaper then my 2x8's:mrgreen:

Good job! I like the natural approach, the more natural the materials, the better.

Plenty sturdy. posts are buried as deep as I could dig the holes, everything is cross braced.

I had better not let the wife see this, she would want one modified into a covered picknik table.

Not a bad idea. It could double as a pic nic table.

I have often thought about building a shooting bench behind the house, then I start thinking it's something else I have to mow around.
