Been working a little bit with a M44 Mosin and it seems to do really well, except I am having a little trouble with my eyes so I put a scout type scope on it to try. In Order to see what it would really do I visually culled my last lot of about 300 NOE 316299's and only had seven rejects. I weighed the remainder to separate out by weight and got the shock of my life. Mold drops an average of 211.4grns out of 50/50 WW and pure. All bullets weighed from 211grns to 211.6grns with 80% falling into 211.2-211.3 and 211.5-211.6 grns.

Unless I start to compete benchrest with this rifle, it looks like visual culling would be more than sufficient. Super kudos to NOE for their good work! A .6 grn spread is phenomenal from a 5-cavity mold. That is not quite a .2% weight variation!

Since I am slightly anal, I am going to use only the 211.3 grainers for my first testing. :bigsmyl2:
I also am going to see how the culled boolits shoot as a control.

There will definitely be more NOE molds in the stable as soon as the wallet allows.

One 316299 looks pretty much like another! Will post about how the rifle and scope work out later.

Pretty much found the same thing with the two noe's i have in 35 cal. Both pour to specks with straight ww and weight consistency is amazing. If i keep the temp. right on the mould, the boolits just fall out when i open the moulds. It's amazing how many boolits you can make in an hour with just a double cavity when you don't have to tap.

That type of consistency is coming from you doing the same thing over and over again. Its pretty easy to make all the cavities the same with a CNC. Just set the program and close the door. However you are casting is working very good!

That consistency comes not just from the 5 cav mold quality, but your casting methods as well as was stated by tome boy.

Yep, good methods, consistency and a high quality mould will do that for you. :)

Have 5 NOE's and looking forward to more, when I can afford them. Looking now at a 150gr. 7MM gas Check!

I really like my 287-150 (hunter). It shoots as well as any thing else Ive tried in 2 if my 3 7mms . The long tapered driving band makes it very easy to fill the throat/leade .

The NOE moulds I have drop on spec for me w/little to no hole to hole variation. I feel like if there's a pour problem its something I'm doing or have done. Any mould that comes w/all its tools and prefered plate lube and simply works is gold standard to me.

I have this mold for my 7mm RM, works well so far, I still have to get the right powder.

I posted a test, made a mistake on the powder, thus the need for new powder.
I did get good groups for me, I am not a great shot.LOL
