I broke the piggy bank and sprung for a Rowell #2. This thing looks like some nice piece of work. Sometimes you just need to indulge yourself!

I have never seen one in person. How big is the #2 ladle? You don't get an accurate sense of it's size from pictures on the merchants websites.

#1 is 1/2lbs, #2 is 1lbs.

Uh, I think the #2 is a 2 pound ladle. The bowl is about 2 1/2" across.

OK. So it is a decent size then. The only casting ladle I have is the one by Lee. What a worthless piece of junk. Thanks for stating the size of the bowl.

Thanks for the pdf Jmortimer. I will probably go with a #2 myself. The #10 would just be to large for me having a capacity of 90 pounds of lead. I think that one would be a 2 person ladle.

I went with a #3 myself but I think any one of them you'll be more than happy with. Definitely money well spent.
Leave it full of lead & it could be used as a demolition hammer. It's that well made/solid.

(no I'm no tennis player but the dogs are)

I don't see how I would have done it without mine! I can't remember if mine is the 2 or 3, but it is as large as you can get them without having the handle support for 2 handed pouring.

Great ladle, I can pour ingots with great ease. The bottom pour is feature is a huge help.

years ago, I used to render my lead at work, during my lunch hour. Used a Rowell ladle that was something like 8"-10" across. In less than 30 mins, I could have 20-30 lbs of new ingots!

I love my #5. Best investment I've made for running large batches of smelting. The one next to it is a #1
