I went to the bowling pin match at Pearland Shooting Club Sunday. Now that I have a 45 XDM they let me shoot in the match. Not that a 45 is required, they have a formula for power factor needed but my 9mm does not qualify. I have not yet started to cast boolits for this one but I can feel the urge. I made a short video, less than 10 minutes that sort of summarizes the 4 hours we were there. It does include the shoot off for first place at the end. Mostly I recorded a bunch of us old farts with a token youngster thrown in. I am not in the video and certainly not in the shoot off. This was done by an old geezer with an old cell phone so if you require Hollywood quality video this aint it. I make the usual mostly hopeless plea for subscribers. Of course the only thing you get if you subscribe is a notice in your gmail when I post a new video and that can be months in between.

I went to a bowling pun shoot at a local club a few years ago .
It was a lot of fun .. a bit differant format .
It was scored based off of how many hits you had and how many shots it took to clear the table .

I showed up at the first one with a .38 .. and didnt do well .
The next shoot i took my .475 and was asked to not bring it back again .. 5 shots 5 dead bowling pins every time iif you did your part

Different than in my day - we just had plywood table and you had to get them off the table - mostly used 45's and 44's but anyone was welcome to try with what they brung out. I used to take 45 ACP and load with 255 KT SWC and then touch the nose with a drill bit making it about 230 grains of shallow dimple with a biting edge to it so it would grab that tough plastic.

Sort of like the cup point idea but a sharper edge and not as deep

The bowling pin matches here were center fire; Pins set 1ft from front edge of the table. fastest time to clear the table no pins left on the table time stopped when last pin hit the floor. 22 class: pins were set 1 foot from back edge of table again time stopped when last pin hit the floor. Our pin table was 1" heavy plywood with 12 gage sheet metal top and face at 30 degree angle. 4 ft wide and 8 ft long. With 3 legs. Second chance used a 3-4" wide kevalr face on thier tables. it was 1" above table top so a pin laying on its side got considerably smaller. Having to knock the pins off the table helped controll the light loads crowd. I shot a 45 acp with 225 grn wadcutters from an old mold I aquired. Wife would shoot revolver class with a 357 and 200 grn bullets hand loaded to around 950 fps. In revolver class I shot a 45 colt with 255 grn lee flat points at 800 fps those loads with a solid body hit looked like an invisible hand picked the bullet up and dropped it of the back of the table. Would be a lump in the plastic on the back side of the bullet hole.

From what I understand the "sharp pointy" aka 452303 that NOE ran does quite well in the BP matches. :)
