Question 1: Does anyone have an older design RCBS 38 (.358 cal)-158 grain round nose (plain base) bullet mold? I am curious what the "as cast" bullet diameter is, and the bullet length. (also what alloy used).

Question 2: Does anyone have one for sale? (contact info in profile).

The "older style" means the bullet mold has a grease groove AND a crimping groove. It looks "sort of" like the Lyman/Ideal 358311. The current RCBS 38-158 round nose plain base bullet has just a lube groove-no crimp groove.

Thanks in advance.

I did find one and had to buy a box of 3 molds to get it. it drops them at .3585 with Lyman #2 , at the sale I was told it was purchased in the 70,s , My Ruger .357 Mag. takes well to them I will try to measure one for length tomorrow

I just checked mine and it doesn't have the groove. Mine is supposed to be 158 but is a lot closer to 170. I like it but never use it as I like their 150 SWC better. They cast around 152 grains.

I don't have the RCBS bullet you are talking about but I do have a similar Ohas 414 158 RN that is surplus to my needs. If you want it let me know, $50. shipped. I don't remember what it drops but it's big enough to be sized .359(what's in picture).
