Hey Folks! I just finished this project and can't help but show off some! But first I could not have built this one w/o some help from my friends. Certainly it would still be just pieces if not for Sonic1 and Larry Gibson, Principally, and some others vicariously! So
Thanks bunches Guys!!
I built this LR 98 in 35 Rem Mainly to utilize CB's. So this afternoon I tried 'er out! Had some 156 gr swc gc sized to .358 for my handguns and added 11.5 gr of Green Dot and after 3 sight in shots, I fired these. It was only 20 degrees and I could only shoot at 50 yards due to a snowbank, but between shiverin' and the poor rest [an old sawhorse] I am encouraged!! Again kinda braggin' so Be gentle w/ me!!! And Thanks again Guys!! MV

That sure looks like it will be a fun gun to play with. Thanks for sharing your excitement. J

.................Looks like a nicely made rifle. Need a larger photo :-) The 35 Rem is just a great cartridge to play with, and it also has lots of versatility out in the field. A 35 cal 200 gr cast slug at 2250 fps ain't ***** footing.

OK I'll put the links and see how that works! It may be slow tho!!
Basically rt side

Left side

The barrel needs to have a sling swivel attached where the "pump handle hanger" was, and I need to find an old [or replacement] Rem. Front sight

And tho it feeds reliably from the left side of the mag... I need to do some work to get 'er to feed better from the right side!!!

Also I hate that Scope mount on this action... so that will get replaced also.. Which just leaves a bit of polishing and tweeking.... Who am I kidding... I will probably Never be completely finished w/ it... Why should this one be any different from the other projects??? Later.. MV
Forgot to admit that a proper safety may be a good thing!!!

Looks like a fun rifle, glad I could help with the reamer (I got it originally from the Preacher here). Now I'm gonna have to scope mine.....just to keep up with the jonesies! I will recommend the RCBS 35-200-FN as a very good bullet for the .35 Rem.

Beautiful work, but I was hoping for a closeup of the target! Can't see the holes. Yes, I know, just working up loads, just starting to work on accuracy.

I know it looks like the circle is the size of the triggerguard... But it aint that small... the size of the bottom of a beer can is more like it!! Check the Target Material!!! MV

Yeah! Bitter halfs tend to want to be in control. IMHO
