I thought I'd show off my new to me Remington 700 Classin in 35 Whelen. Both rifle ande scope are about as close to being ANIB as you can get. That rifle never has seen a day in the field for sure. I lucked out for a change.

I love those 700 Classics - to my way of thinking they are right up toward the top of the list of finest bolt rifles made - ever.

That is a very nice rifle , congrats and thanks for the picture.IIRC the Whelen classic was made around 1998? It truly is disturbing to see how far Remington has fallen from this level of craftsmanship.Hopefully Remington will once again return to making high quality rifles like this fine example.Until they do rifles like yours will continue to skyrocket in price.

The degradation in quality over the years reminds me of when Winchester went to hogging out the barrel channel in the 1964 and later rifles. People put up such a fuss over it it was good to see they stopped such sloppy workmanship.

I ordered a mold from Tom of Accurate Moulds and think I made a pretty good choice. One side of the mould will have the 36-215M bullet and the other the 36-245S...both gas check variety.Tpom has a three week turnaround but I've never waited that long to get a mould from him.
