So I just came back from the store and this lil guy caught my eye. They had the Savage 111 in 25-06 with scope for only 270!!! I don't ever remember seeing the 111 this low. Maybe the Axis or Edge models but dang. I wasn't sure if it was the older ones with the Bushnell or nikons scope or if they had any other calibers.

If you had a rack full of rifles would you still buy it???

I would of bought it on the spot but toting my wife and kids around isn't usually fun when trying to buy another gun.

What would the retail be on it? I usually see them for 450-600 buy not sure about used prices.

Sounds like someone had mispriced it as that's the usual price for a Savage Axis, not the 111. If it is a 111, snag it up.

Occasionally I see Savage 110's & 111's in that price range. I'll usually snatch them up. Too good of a rifle to pass by at that price. Unusual to see one in .25-06 at that price, however. Typically I see .270's, .30-06's or 7mm Mag's.

If by chance it has a 22" barrel, I wouldn't be too concerned that it is a .25-06. I've had a Stevens 200 in that caliber for a while with a 22" bbl. I have it zeroed at 300 yards with 117's for long distance ground hog shooting. I does well.

12 years ago I bought a brandnew w/out scope 111 in 7 remmag for that price, it was deeply reduced they said and it is a lefty, at todays prices that one would be in the closet with the others!

Savage actually has 2 models of 111. One model has the Accustock, and the other does not. Usually, the Non-Accustock model gets blown out at insanely low prices.

I have been looking for either the 111 or the Axis to be available locally in 25-06 for a while now. Good Find!

So OP, what did you end up doing?

Savage wants over $1,100 for the rifle - scope.

Do you really need another addiction?

I can swap bbls and be firing a different caliber in less than 10 minutes.

No please do not make me tell how many bbls and go gauges are snuggled in my place.

My friend has that same gun. Its an excellent shooter. We load 90 grain sierra hp gamekings with imr 4350. Shoots great. I would buy that rifle for the price.
