Even us veterans love the "clang". In IHMSA/NRA sillywet we call it "banging and clanging".

Addictive. Even crusty old shooters giggle like little kids when they have a successful clang.

*** CLANG IS GOOD ***
Sometimes My inner 10 year old has a hard time breaking through the 72 year old outer shell,
Clang and bang is very helpful, Now clang and bang and popping a little smoke really gets the job done.
"" The smoke is optional ""

Hereing the clang from the big black powder rounds is very satisfing. I have drawn up and ofered to help make a swinger for the home clubs rifle range but they are dead set against steel targets. I have been playing at the Black powder sillywetts game a couple years now. Very satisfing to hear the ring and see the ram swing at 500yds

No steel allowed on my home range either but a cast bullet at 100 yards makes a nice Boom-Thwack as the bullet hits the target and punches through the plywood backer.

great photo of some cute girls and a properly sized rifle for them to enjoy.

Clang is addictive. They look like they are enjoying the day.

Jeff,

Going to eat lunch with my niece and her boyfriend in from NZ. She apparently loves it there. Must remind her of South Carolina..............

I'll ask her if she's heard or seen the famous purple long john outlaw.:bigsmyl2:

Not trying to steal the thread, but I once ended up in a local dump, which was full of of old beer bottles. It was very satisfying breaking them up with a 22 rf. I do enjoy hearing the clang of a steel target, which incidentally, I have two of them to hang up.

Great stories Jeff.

I really enjoy watching your young ladies grow up.

Keep up the great work.

Just PLEASE do not post any photos of them in PURPLE tights.:bigsmyl2:

Nice photo - how come if you live in silencer friendly NZ you don't put a can on that rifle so they can hear (Pfft - CLANG) and you can all talk normally without hearing protection?

Suppressor would blot the front sight out. In addtion, we don't always have the range to ourselves so earmuffs are standard.

We used to use the tail section that had been cut off a JATO bottle for our gong. Hung nozzle up it was shaped like a bell.

Hearing the CLANG was like winning a prize.

Great pic Jeff. Looks like they're having a great time. Thanks for sharing.
The clang of lead on steel has always been satisfying to me. The clang just lets you know why you're there.

Boy was my wife upset when I purchased my plate rack from Action Target last year. She got her first handgun this year, and I managed to get this picture of her on Mother's day. Funny, I haven't heard any more complaints about me purchasing the plate rack. :Fire:
