I have one also a XP-100 built by Brown ! i have the RCBS 145grgc SIL mould but havent tryed it yet in mine ! shoots jacketed scary accurate so i never tried cast with it.
I did try 4 different cast boolets in my 7mm TCU and it never gave me good enough accuracy to be used in a match but shot excellent with jacketed .
I have a RPM XL in 30/20 that i use the RCBS 165grgc Sil in and its extremely accurate with cast.

Haven't owned a 7mm IHMSA for a number of years but I recall working up cast loads with WW748 and H335 using the old RCBS 145-grain RN (which has been replaced in their catalog by the current 'SIL' boolit). Did manage to develop some reasonably accurate loads in the 1400-1500 fps range but shot those only for practice out to 150M because I ran out of elevation clicks before 200M. Also, like bobthenailer's, my rebarreled XP was 'scary accurate' using JBs...like sub-MOA @ 100M with a scope installed for load development.

Thanks for the info. I got a bit of data from someone on the IHMSA sight. He was using both of the RCBS bullets on top of 19 gr of SR-4759 and said that he was getting great accuracy out of his XP even out to 200 meters. Might be a good starting point.

It seems that SR 4759 has been working out with a lot of shooter including me. I use 18 gr of SR 4759 in my T/C 14' 30-30 and a 165gr RCBS sil for IHMSA. To bad it's being discontinued. Now looking for a suitable replacement. I understand Reload 7 is suppost to be good. I have about 1/2 pound to experiment with.

I have 5744 and R- 7 on the shelf , i worked up a very accurate load for my 9 year old grandsons rem #7 & Speer's 110gr TNT & Sierra 100gr hp @1800 fps for him to graduate from 22lr. i tried the rcbs and it would not fit the throat correctly i never tried it in the throat of my xp-100 , the nose dia is a little to big for chambering , perhaps i might try sizing the nose dia about 2 to 3 thousands smaller.if i can borrow a sizer die for a 270 win boolet .

Some have said that AA5744 is another great choice. I went to Lymans cast boolit handbook and looked at the 300 savage for powder applications just to get an idea of the powders being used in that case. SR4759 has been discontinued so I might as well start looking for an alternative. 4198 and 3031 are listed as well.

Never found a powder that will equal 4759. I just got 16# from Midsouth and with what I had left, over 20#.
