Well, I got schooled a little bit today. There is a design difference between the 448 and the 129. The 448 has a Loverin style nose, where the ogive runs into a groove. The 129 has the nose running into a bore diameter driving band.

On left, we have the 118 gr (nominal) 285448. It has a fairly wide base band, then two somewhat smaller drive bands above it. Topping it all off is a Kephart scraper. The nose diameter in front of the groove for the Kephart scraper is .274, well under the groove size. Boolit OAL is .852 with a GC. Jam fitting the 285448 into the T/C Contender 7-30 Waters chamber pushes it back to 2.619 inches COL. GC fits within the neck.

285448 Designed by H. Guy Loverin and very accurate in the 7 mm. (GC, RN, 118 – TP is 346)

This is also available as a Hensley & Gibbs # 195--7mm "Loverin". 125 grains at .825" length. Similar to Ideal #285448, for customer. Gas check base, three grease grooves, (the forward one is smaller in dimension) One crimp groove. Round nose. July 1953. http://www.hensleygibbs.com/casting/Hensley%20&%20Gibbs%20Mould%20List.htm

On the right, we have the 124 grain (nominal) 285129. Note that it has three wide drive bands. The top drive band is in front of the top grease groove. All three bands are sized to .285 Boolit OAL is .872 with a GC. Jam fitting the 285129 into the T/C Contender 7-30 Waters chamber pushes it back to 2.530 inches COL. GC is darned close to being inside the shoulder (if it isn't!)

287129 Round nosed gas check bullet for the .280 Remington. Size to .285. (GC, RN, 124 – TP is 346)
