Has anyone heard about these KBI/Charles Daly 1874 Sharps rifles????
Who actually makes them??
Their prices ar about the same as Dixie Gun Works for Pesdersoli 1874's.
Any information would be much appreciated, both good and bad opinions.

Made in Italy and fashioned after the same guns used by early italian Buffalo hunters on the continent, not much info on this in the history books, mostly just info on how they distinguished themselves in 2 World Wars.

I was under the impression that KBI's were going to be made in the Phillipines. I have yet to see one first hand so I can't say for sure, but i use a lot of Charles Daly and so far they have all been well made guns. I have carried a slicked up Charles daly 1911 since 1993 and it has served me well.

You can see them here (http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=GA6616). I understand they'll soon be chambering them in .30-30 WCF, and I'm going to save my pennies for one. It'll be a great rifle for cast bullet loads.

Thanks for the link, I was unaware of them. I will wait till they are on the market to see who is the actual manufacturer, and get some quality feedback. One in .45 Colt like shown would be neat.

My understanding from the Charles Daly site is for a full size 1874 Sharps in .45/70,
not a smaller size.
Just my .02 worth.:castmine:

Did you see the link Pawpaw had? It shows the smaller framed rifle, with a price, and says "ships in 2-5 days" It sure looks like they are making it.

They also list a 38-55 as well. I think this is the scaled down version of the 74. Sounds like an interesting gun to me, but out of my budget right now. Plus it would be nice to see some feed back on these.
